Board-Certified Optometrist
Nina Stroud, O.D.
Dr. Nina Stroud is a board-certified optometrist licensed in both Nevada and California with advanced training in ocular disease and a passion for providing compassionate, evidence-based medical eye care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health Science, graduating cum laude from Santa Clara University, before earning her Doctor of Optometry degree summa cum laude from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University.
Following optometry school, Dr. Stroud completed an ocular disease residency at the VA West Los Angeles Healthcare Center, where she completed more than 1,200 direct patient encounters as a primary eye care provider. Her residency provided extensive experience diagnosing and managing ocular disease, interpreting laboratory and imaging studies, performing low vision evaluations and rehabilitation, and caring for patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. She also helped educate optometry students and medical trainees and completed a thesis focused on the role of optical coherence tomography (OCT) in primary optometric care.
Dr. Stroud has continued to build extensive experience in both medical and surgical eye care. In a high-volume, multi-physician ophthalmology setting, she provides comprehensive medical eye care and co-manages cataract surgery patients from preoperative IOL discussions through postoperative monitoring. She has particular experience managing glaucoma using OCT, visual fields, pachymetry, and gonioscopy, as well as monitoring conditions including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and ocular surface disease.
Her clinical background also includes extensive refractive surgery experience. At Pacific Vision Institute in San Francisco, Dr. Stroud performed comprehensive LASIK and PRK evaluations, assessed patients for surgical candidacy, provided postoperative care, and worked closely with refractive surgeons to help patients achieve optimal visual outcomes. Her broader primary eye care experience includes pediatric vision care, contact lenses, dry eye evaluations and treatment, and management of anterior and posterior segment disease.
Dr. Stroud is also committed to continued learning and advancing the profession of optometry. She has presented on topics ranging from OCT angiography and acute-onset diplopia to choroidal and vitreomacular disorders. She currently serves as Sponsorship Director for the San Francisco Optometric Association, helping support continuing education initiatives and strengthen collaboration among optometrists, ophthalmology groups, and industry partners.

PATIENT TESTIMONIALS
I would like to compliment the doctors and staff for making my cataract surgery a positive experience. I especially like how cheerfully and professionally I was treated from the first time I walked in the door. All phases of the surgery were carefully explained to me, and all my questions were answered to my satisfaction. When people ask me about my cataract surgery I recommend Eye Care Professionals.
Thank you so much for giving me back my sight. It really is better than it has ever been in my entire life. I look forward to seeing familiar things in a whole new light, with more definition and clarity. Thanks!
I was very nervous about the procedure but Dr. Mills took his time and answered every question I had. He made me feel very comfortable with everything. It’s less than 24 hours after my LASIK procedure and I can already see 20/15! I can’t recommend him enough and will always be grateful. What a positive experience!
